相约北美 / 探亲团聚 / 刚刚听说父母如果独自一人在国内，七十岁以上，子女都在加拿大的可以申请移民手续加快。不知道有没有听到同样的说法？

５年前给父母递交SPONSOR时听一个菲利宾同事说过。 如果在本国身边没有任何子女，可以通过一个专门的部门申请。不用分两步走。老人可以先以探亲方式来加拿大住到移民签证下来。 当时她说大概要１年半到两年的样子。因为我家不符合标准，也就没有查询。你可以跟CIC问一下。

Possible to apply for PR status under H&C grounds...overall processing time is slightly shorter than parental sponsorship via BJ, but need 1) come to Canada first as visitor; and 2) to maintain Visitor status during the entire processing. Not easy case though...good luck.

it's "under H&C grounds", not H&C undergrounds.... :)Humanitarian and compassionate grounds/considerations...for persons who would suffer excessive hardship if they had to return to their home country to apply for permanent residence in Canada as required by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
Cost and inconvenience are not considered excessive hardship though.
