I do not think Ford's remarks is respectable. But politics is a game of votes in exchange of interestes. Not talking you like a dog is not enough to exchange the money and rights they abused, to most of normal canadian people.

-visitor2.0(visitor2.0); 10.19 08:38 (#6325782@0) reply more

让白人养着,THEY DESERVE IT.

Actually, in his original comments "oriental" was probably more inappropriate than "dog". At the end of day, 'work like a dog' is an existing idiom in English and not uncommon in informal conversations. But, "oriental" can be a bit offensive.

Just wanted to point out that when people puts a lot of focus on 'dog' , actually, in that sentence the word 'oriental' is more of an issue than 'dog'.

work like dog字典里说的很清楚,就是work very hard的意思。有的地方还有work like dog day 用以鼓励努力工作。
