Easy answer1, of course.
It might be a tougher choice if 2 is not Mahler's symphonies on CD. Listening to Mahler on CD and in live concert are completely different experiences. There are so much richness in sonority and so many fine details in orchestration that may be missed from listening to CDs.

TBH, I don't hear much difference, and I don't pretend to be able to distinguish those subtle nuances. Live performances work on a psychological level; that is, if you wish to believe something is true, then it is.

I would go to a Schiff recital only to witness his playing; once would be enough. Rest of the time, I do perfectly fine with his live recordings, like this one:
