1.As long as the timeline is reasonable, it should be fine. However, better not to early because you are supposed to get your proper status when you enter the country.2. It is a MUST to state the time period of your employment, less than 3 years.Specify the exact dates, to be safe. No experience on the third one.

Thanks guys and that was quick. I want to apply 4 weeks before the start date. Is this reasonable ? Any experience with foreign education ?

They didnt check my transcripts that are not certified in Canada/USA.Although I brought official Chinese transcripts and Canadian Master transcripts to the border.
It is up to u.

They only looked your Canadian Master degree. Your Chinese degree was not an issue in your case.In my case, my company did the evaluation for me but the officer at the border said they needed the original copy. Luckily, I did the evaluation myself in Canada as well and showed them the original copy and got my TN.

Thanks for all the info and I really appreciated. One more question thought is regarding the port of entry. Did anybody get their TN at a major airport ? In my case, that would be Calgary International Airport. Thanks !

Never mind. I called the airport and it seems you need to fly at that time while you are getting the TN visa.

如果你只有中国的学历,你必须找一个加拿大或美国的学历评估机构评估你的中国学历,否则边境会拒绝你的申请。这是必须做的。祝你顺利。。

Thanks. We will move to Austin since we were so tired of the harsh weather in Calgary. That is the warmest place I can find for my family. Not so very familiar with the city. But I think we can live with the balmy weather there.

Thanks. They are checking my references next week. It seems the housing in Austin is much more affordable than Calgary. But the property tax is substantially higher. Did I mention substantially ?I will leave a technical management position to take a system engineer in Austin. So, I did not even ask for more money and the move is purely for the family and in the meantime they have a very interesting project. I wish I made the right move.

一个百分比大一点,一个是基数大很多,结果美国的地税还是少了很多.你在卡城要交的地税更多.在加元美元基本等值下,美国的房子显得很便宜.

Sorry for my ignorance. But a typical $300,000 house in Austin has between $7,000 and $9,000 property tax annually. That is more than double what you pay in Calgary for a $500,000 property.

卡城500K的房子没有那边300K的好,冬天还不烧气,按目前汇率来说,肯定大赚了.

Austin

Is ECE (Education Credential Evaluators) good for the TN visa ? This is the only one still open for the holidays.
Anybody used their service before ? Thanks in advance !
