Are you suggesting that our government workers are WEAK and POOR working people? If this is the case, then how do you describe the Chinese immigrant labour working in TNT supermarket?

Then it depends. If it is private sector, they would have to work harder to compensate the no pay leave. I know a few accountants who told me that their finance departments let go a few employee and at the same time, their management asked them to prepare more financial reports. So, they have to work 30 - 40% longer (no OT pay) to get their works done.
So if the union workers in our government cares about the WEAK and POOR people, then they can work a little bit longer to maintain their services level. It is all up to them! Do you think they CARE about WEAK and POOR people?

Average workers either in public or private sector are innocent, people just come to do their jobs, get paid to make a living, pay taxes, and follow the laws and policies. If something wrong,I always believe that we have wrong people on the top whose role are leaders and decision makers. They always failed to do their jobs or they are not qualified in that position, especially in public sector.

The public workers are not innocent. On the contrary, they are way too greedy. Do you think they deserve the pay raise in this bad shape? Do you think they should strike while their private counterparts are suffering job lost?I think all these on-strike garbage collectors should be fired!

As long as workers follow the laws and policies, they are untouchable. IF YOU HATE THIS, DON'T HATE THE PUBLIC WORKERS, HATE THE LAW MAKERS AND POLICY APPROVERS.

Yes, you are right! And this is why I would vote for whoever is going to cut the public workforce in coming election. Outsource garbage collection, libraries, gardens and community cetners. So more money can go to real poor and weak people.

When most workers from private companies have suffered from either laid off, cutting work hours / rate and worked longer hours, why public unionized workers can still enjoy their protection?

Did someone mention that IBM cut 10% rate last year and then another 10% hour this year? I love to see our 3 levels government follow IBM and use all the saved money to help those who lost their jobs, house or on welfare. The real POOR and WEAK!

We discussed about unionized public workers. Let's focus on this subject! Who are weaker and poorer? The unionized public workers? or those who got laid off? on welfare?

Does it benefit general public who may already lost their full time job, or become single income family or loss 5 - 10% income? Is our government supposed to serve the general public or those unionized public workers?
