I worked and lived in US in 2008. My husband and my child live in Canada. I am using Turbotax to file the US tax return. My husband has an income in Canada and doesnot want to file US tax return. The issue is when I select "Married file seperated", it still needs my husband infomation such as, SSN or ITIN number. So what status I need to file? Thanks a lot for you any suggesyions.

In my understanding, you can either ignore the ITIN requirement, or if you file as non-resident alien, you can elect to be treated as single.
