软件的版权我不太清楚,但我知道每张CD付给艺术家的费用大约在$1, 其它的都是给唱片商,批发商,零售商了。所以买正版CD更多的是在支持唱片发行业,而正是这些商人们反对网上音乐下载,包括付费的下载。

盗版泛滥后,complain的艺术家并不多,更多的是音乐,电影发行商。相反,盗版让古典音乐更普及了,艺术家的粉丝也更多了,追星听音乐会的乐迷也更多了,这些都是有利于艺术家但不利于唱片商的事。记得华裔小提琴家薛伟在国内电视台被采访时就非常支持盗版。

像豆瓣上的那些迷恋巴洛克音乐的年轻人,据我说知大部分都是大学本科生,有些甚至还是高中学生,他们根本没钱买正版CD。

不知道国内什么样子。这边的CD很多都是年轻人买。其实CD的价钱可以更便宜,因为
有了盗版才这样贵。买正版的也在为盗版买单。真的没钱又爱听的,听盗版当然可
以理解了。出一个碟子,是个商业化的过程,不可能利润只在艺术家那里。

我上面说了,一张CD付给艺术家的钱大约只有$1,剩下的都花在商业过程中了,大家都是在给唱片商为了抢市场而花出的昂贵广告费买单。而从全社会的角度来说,这些市场开发费用是一种浪费,因为一个公司的成功往往导致另一个公司的失败,是零和的博弈。

那要是大家都用盗版的话艺术家不是一份钱都拿不到?商业链里拿钱很正常啊,大家
都生活在商业社会里,艺术家也不例外。做艺术的支持盗版?那商业活动输赢都不
应该有影响吧,受影响的也只有商家,支持盗版的艺术家们干脆直接把艺术贡献出来就行了,省得麻烦音乐爱好者们盗版:)

盗版是因为正版太贵才盛行的。。。其实盗版也会对正版的销售有促进作用。比如有很多古典音乐的曲目或演绎大家还不熟悉,想先听听再决定是否要买,如果没有盗版就没多少机会试听,最后可能就不买了。但如果听了盗版以后觉得好,往往还是去买张正版的收藏起来

关于盗版,在技术上微软是个很明显的例子,从某种角度上说,正是因为盗版才使得现在的pc大部分都是windows,另一个例子是卫星电视,安省魁省盗用dishnet和bell的用户可能比bell本身的正牌用户还多,但dishnet和bell还是有利可图,这种警察和小偷的游戏的存在对他们的共同利益是有好处的,至少他们联合起来,打击了rogers。

嗯,你说的这个也有道理。我过去有两个同事从来就不买正版的东西,音乐,书,电
影全部网上下载。我说的盗版主要指这样的。因为这样子加上如今的互联网,这行
业迟早会被弄跨。

对艺术家更直接的回报是去看他们的演出,或是捐钱给演出机构,而不是买正版CD. 所以我每年都会捐一点力说能及的给TSO, COC 或是纽约的卡内基音乐厅。

呵呵,我就在想你什么时候会说到这里。的确做音乐的,收入不少是从演出里来的。
其实我自己也是听到好听的才去买正版,除了实在买不到的。说来说去,
都是一个底线在哪里的问题。我大概不会替做艺术的捐钱,我比较俗,还是觉得这是商业活动,自己遵守活动规则,让商业结果去决定艺术家的前途。这只是个人选择。只好让你们这样真正热爱音乐的人BS一下了:)

我至今为止从未听过艺术家说反对盗版的,只听过有些艺术家说支持盗版的。倒是那些电影制片厂唱片公司搞的所谓艺术家协会整天找人大官司。

没有任何证据说明“盗版扼杀了创造和创新,杜绝了年轻人创业”,对社会是很严重的犯罪更是无从说起。要说罪魁祸首,还是版权制度,它使得唱片商实行垄断,扼杀竞争,反倒是对创新不利。因为版权和垄断导致的昂贵价格才使得盗版泛滥成风

我认识一个搞通讯的朋友,自己也申请过专利,他说很多时候申请专利并不是因为他们的发明已经有实用价值了,而是担心其他的研发者在他们之前搞出有时用价值的东西,因此先申请个专利来阻止其他人的发明。。。

再举个例子。制药厂是支持版权制度者常用的一个例子,他们说因为发明新药需要花大量的早期投资,如果没有专利来保护投资者的回报,没人愿意做这个投资。但实际呢,药厂早就把研发分成一小块一小块的outsource到很多没有版权保护的小实验室了。最后的成果是这些实验室做出来的,暴利却是制药厂获得。。。
唱片商就好比制药厂,艺术家就像小实验室。
