文学城上面的多是各说各话,毕竟二国都了解的人不多,都只局限于美国或加拿大.所以没什么有价值的比较.比如经常看见在美国的家长抱怨学校作业少,只有上过加拿大学校的才知道,在加拿大的学校作业更少.

这个话题太大,简单几句说不清楚,如果从ACADMIC课业压力方面讲,如果说中国最重,加拿大最轻松,美国可以说居中,但是也可能是由于经济和人口的原因,美国的学校课外的选择就多了很多,毕竟学校有一定规模,活动才能组织的起来,各种CLUB和SPORTS应有尽有.

其实最重要的是这个根子就不同#3978288@0,也可以这么说美国孩子的老师家长可以参加选择,加拿大你孩子的老师只能靠烧高香,遇到不付责任的自己只能认倒霉了.

我只是听别人说加拿大的公校学校都没有午餐,要自己带冷的.还有...我只是听别人说加拿大的公校学校都没有午餐,要自己带冷的.
再加上最近开车经过几个公校,感觉房子都旧得不行,好象比我自己几十年前在老家小镇上的学校还要破旧不堪,有些震惊.
又听说学得很稀松,进了大学就辛苦.
大家交那么多税,整个一感觉加拿大的公校教育很失败啊...
所以想听听US那边的是不是好一些...

这个可以confirm, 美国学校有食堂,提供早饭,午饭。午饭标准时2。5,包主食,饮料,水果,色拉。可以临外加别的菜。每个学生有个账户象网上银行,可以让家长存钱,查小孩吃了些啥。我家小家伙第一个礼拜天天加一块cheese cake..

要吃到免费午餐你得相当的穷,这个比例是衡量学校的标准之一,不能当福利来看。好的学校 1-2%,差的学校能达到30-40%。

美国老师管理要严格一些,加拿大的老师很喜欢夸孩子,美国老师会直接指出孩子的问题所在,我女儿的老师会为某次的作业晚交而打电话追到我们家长的OFFICE,在加拿大从来没遇到过这样的老师.还有孩子的作业和考试都有OPTINAL.孩子的作业和考试都有OPTINAL.鼓励有能力的孩子多学一些,七年级开始数学课就开始设Accelerate Class,

孩子在美国上过小学再到加拿大来的人在这里其实有不少,我也是。如果要对应地比较,所谓“名校”和“名校”比,所谓“烂校”和“烂校”比,结果是一边倒的,而且差距很大。楼上的说得对,体制不同。

听起来似乎US的学校比较符合华人的教育理念...听起来似乎US的学校比较符合华人的教育理念,加拿大的学校好象太稀松了,怪不得每个家长都想让孩子上天才班,至少能多学一点.
我在想加拿大人比较轻松乐观,遇事喜欢偷懒,慢腾腾的,而US人比较aggressive,进取心强,是不是也是这两种不同教育体制下的产物.
就好象我们华人普遍比较勤奋刻苦,做事认真,喜欢居安思危,也是我们的苛刻严厉,竞争残酷的教育制度下的产物吧...
