枫下拾英 / 乐韵书香 / 至lifesucks不知该怎样称呼才好(代号多少有点吓人)。 我以为傅雷更多的是一个广义的艺术评论家(或鉴赏家)。他对诗文, 书法, 表演, 音乐等却有独到的见解。 但我觉得他最功力最深的方面(翻译之外)恐怕是对绘画的评论。这也许与他翻译了丹纳的《艺术哲学》 有关。 他对绘画的精采述反映在他翻译的巴尔扎克的小说《猫打球商店》 和《一个艺术家的死》(见国内八十年代出版的《巴尔扎克中短篇小说选》)。但他在音乐上的直观感受却令我仰慕不已。

文学家评论音乐很容易走文学化诗意化的路子,让自己carried away,读傅雷写的《贝多芬的作品及精神》就是这样,大段大段的形象刻画和渲染,这可能对喜欢感性文字的人有吸引力,但我不太感兴趣。现在网上大多数纪念贝多芬的文章在文字渲染上有过之而无不及。。。我认为对作品的技术分析实际上更enlightening,因为贝多芬的伟大在于他的音乐(his greatness lies in his achievement as a composer),音乐之外的东西倒可以忽略不提了。

上次goingconer提到的Susan Sontag 的 <Against Interpretation> 值得一读. 后来我注意了一下每次音乐会的节目单, 里面的作品介绍也大都是以技术分析为主.

傅雷对亨德尔和莫扎特的评价其实更有意思。比如他说亨德尔和格鲁克的戏剧最接近古希腊精神,就很有启发性。
