DINK is not unusual here. 70k is medium to low income, depending on your profession.

I don't think 70K is medium to low income... You have to compare to everyone. not only the CEO who makes 10Million a year. 70K is relatively considered as high income.

When you finish your BS in CS, or EE, your starting salary is 55K... 70K is a salary 2 years away... that's low to medium.

Sister. you are lucky that you have a job these couple years as a new grad... so 45K compare to no job, it's not cheap!

Our piglet is being humorous. 29.5K is probably the average, based on 60K per family. but that also includes the Philippino nanny in it...

Don't be too optimistic about your CS degree from UW..... the highest income for a high school teacher is only 65k. A high school teacher has two Bachelor's degrees.....

You forgot to say new immigrants in 21st century. I know then new immigrants in 99 straight from China, got his first job at 93K for a technical job.

What's the meaning of "new immigrant"? Immigrant from 99 is not new immigrant compared to immigrant from 2001.
