I know W2. W2 means the payment for permanent employee * 2. that's the rate for contractors

W2 is contract employee, 1099 standalone contractor, CTC corp-to-corp.

Thanks. Have a couple more questions: Is it true that the rate for 1099<W2<CTC? and If I still live in Canada, only go to US for a few days when the project needs to be on site, which way will be the best for me ?And normally how much rate difference between W2,1099 and CTC?

If your client allows, of course take 1099. But if you only in US for a couple of days, you should talk to an accoutant for possible tax consequences.
