黎全英加拿大华侨移民史提到,华人不融入当地,遇到纠纷不按照当地法律解决,而是唐人街帮会,赚钱就要回国买房卖地,始终是外人心态。西人觉得喂不熟。还有华人过于卷,周日都要工作,工作也不要命,西人竞争不过。

你去看看日裔美国人在珍珠港事件发生后的恐慌,不少日本同乡会长被抓。日本人去了集中营后也是有过大讨论的,一方认为要支持母国,另一方坚持留下。于是各自参军。参加美军的日本青年不被信任,没有去亚洲战场,而是去了欧洲战场。打最艰苦的战斗,死伤无数。才赢得了信任。

我也听说有类似的说法。我觉得我们的华人团体应该把这个历史背景的前因后果搞清楚。支持和反对法案的人的传记与个人作品最好汇总一下。作为一个遗产留给华人后代。如果我们在北美扎根了。这就是我们的土地。我们不是外人。

我们还要看看这些书撰写的时间。作者会持当时比较流行的态度。其实越老的书越好。上世纪40年代50年代的书里面就有很多我们不知道的东西。

是的,先找一本来读,里面会提到其他研究著作,史料。可惜,进不去大学图书馆,更丰富的著作,只有大学图书馆才行。这一本,网上有电子版,在开始读了A White Man's Province
