Here is a step by step guide on how to move your money to Wealthsimple:
Step 1. Get a referral code. Can get $25. Use my referral code: XJ1UZA 🎁
Step 2. Download the app and make an account.
Step 3. Open the accounts you are transferring, e.g. TFSA, RRSP, non-registered
Step 4. Open the corresponding USD accounts if needed. Tap profile icon (top right). Choose status and subscriptions menu. Tap USD accounts. You will get a 30 day free trial. After you reach Premium (>100k in account), USD accounts will be free.
Step 5. Activate the iPhone Promo in the App (does not seem to be available yet).
Step 6. Tap on gift icon. Scroll down and enter your friend's unique referral code. If this option does not exist contact chat and they will add it for you. You have 30 days after signup to add it.
Step 7. Verify that your are registered for the promo (confirmation email received from WS or verify via the app (gift icon))
Step 8. Transfer your accounts to WS. Mutual funds, preferred shares and GICs cannot be transferred in-kind. I would suggest to make sure you have enough cash in each account you are transferring to cover the transfer out fee, but this does not seem to be a requirement. If you need help with the transfer or want to do a partial transfer just contact support and they will walk you through the steps.
Step 9. Once the transfer has been completed WS will reimburse your transfer out fee.
Step 10. A few weeks later you should receive an email that you have qualified for the Iphone 16 promo.
Step 11: Enjoy your iPhone. You should receive your iPhone around the beginning of February.
