Sadly, for your veggies. The seedlings will grow better after the pests were controlled. I don't like butterflies though they are pretty.

I saw people put a unnoticeable or very inconspicuous mesh sheet or screen sheet onto the edge of a balcony,

to prevent birds or flies from flying into the balcony. Maybe you can try this way if it's allowed by the management of your apartment. The mesh sheet can be very light color like silver (almost not visible) and it doesn't block sunlight.
