I would like to report the scam of "ONTARIO CONSUMERS HOME SERVICES" I recently encounted.
I didn't sign anything with them, so there is no real harm to myself personal, but thinking of many naive and trusting good people might be scammed by them, I feel I should write you this letter, coz they need to be STOPPED!
I live at John/Leslie Thornhill area for about a year, Recently one night around 9:30pm. 2 guys knocking my door. I opened the front door, they present them as "Ontario Consumer" representative. start to talk about checking quality of my water like they are sent by government.
I asked them "Is what you doing government regulated? "..Answer me "yes, we are. "..that's lie.
"Does every residence has to be checked? "...Answer "yes, of coz, we have done many of your neighbor, now it's your turn'...lie. lol.
Anyways, I thought they are from the government (how they present themselves, and how well they're trained), so I let them in my kitchen, they ask me to give them 2 clear glass. one with cold water, one with hot water.
Here is the freak show starts, they pull out a machine thing with cord, It have four 5 inches long metal bars, They plugged it in to my stove power outlet. 2 metal bars in hot water, 2 bars in cold water.
The hot water turns to yellowish later even reddish firstly, then the cold water turns too. then dangerous sparkle like when there is a circuits shortcut... I was scared. they unplugged, I checked my stove, thanks god, seems it's still working.
Then, I was recalling the basic knowledge I learned from high school chemistry lab class. why clean clear water will suddenly change to yellowish, chemistry reaction? ..I asked, What is made of the 4 bars? They talking rubbish, I had to repeat my question...answer: metal, good metal with blah blah high-tech design...I asked, there are many type of metal, what is it? ....They said, we guess it's steel. very special steel.
Then I said. There has to be chemistry reaction you thing did to the clean water....they actually ionization the water ! . of coz !!!, when the steel ion separated the H2O into H2 and O2, the steels got Oxidized, Ferric Oxide got into water, thus the water changed to Yellowish !
I Figured out it, and start asking them to leave, they didn't want to, starting telling me about how poisonous my water is and I could get cancer blah blah...It took me 5+ mins finally get them out !
I am writing to you because :
They shouldn't be allowed to present themselves as Government regulator or such.
based on the freak show you did. What they are selling is absolutely nothing to do with high-tech, it's all based on false fake science, Also I doubt if their water filter or tank do any good if not even bad too!
They try to scare you how dirty and poisonous your water is, and how easy you will get cancer and/or other scary sickness, so you must spend a lot of your hard-working paid money, to buy their sh*t equipment, and get looped on for many many years ! which is totally low-life lie.
Just because of some greedy smart-a***le think out this "smart' idea to make BIG money, and get some people who desperately for a job. giving them 2 days training, to teach them the "art" of how to scare people into this scam....it doesn't make it right or legal. actually it should be illegal, and should be stopped!
Later, I have talked with my several neighbors, they all know about this scam for couple years, and all very disgusted of what they are doing, coz one neighbor has a relative signed their contract, and almost couldn't get out !!! his wife almost got heart attack !
Pls, as government common people trust and rely on.......Do something !
