Q: Will local visa offices still accept and process immigration applications during the 2 year pause?
A: Yes, local visa offices will continue processing immigration applications as sponsorship application approved by CPC-Mississauga. However, under the new procedure for parents and grandparents in effect on Nov 5, the immigration application might be processed at CPP-O (Case Processing Pilot – Ottawa) rather than local visa offices. At present, we don’t know the implication of this change but we hope it will balance processing times around the world under this centrally managed procedure in Ottawa.
