Cindy, that is her name, was finally here.
I called her this morning and we met at a food court in the lunch time. She seemed happy about her current job. We had a conversation on the nature of her work and mine.
A few minutes later, she said abruptly, "I want my mom to get married again!"
"No matter she is married or not, you can always live your own life." I said promptly, taking that opportunity to move on and discover something in her life.
She smiled at me, "Am I selfish?"
"You are rather responsible," I flattered her.
"My mom," She sighed softly and murmured to herself, "is fat and nobody likes her."
And I became silent. I am old enough to be your father! I stumbled on my words as my eyes dropped and continued, "I...I will keep an eye on it for her."
After we ended the conversation, she insisted on paying her own lunch.
No progress today.
