If you look at the recently passed health care reform bill in US, it's much market oriented. Largely, it took a lot from the reform in Massachusetts which was signed by Bitt Romney, also got a lot ideas from Republican's proposal in 1994. The US government won't provide health issuance, and only provide subsidy or tax incentive to individuals or businesses for health care. Comparing to the system in Canada, it's way more conservative. That's why I questioned "binghongcha76" how could he tolerate the Canadian health system if he hates the bill so much (I know he's a Conservative).
