July 5 2009 - sponsorship approved by Mississauga office;
July 15 2009 - submitted immigration application to Buffalo office
July 29 2009 - confirmation letter from Buffalo office with medical examination form asking to book an appointment in 3 months (Oct 29)
Aug 11 2009 - Buffalo office notified me that my mom's application has been transferred to Detroit office
Aug 29 2009- Detroit visa asked my mom to have medical examination ASAP & pay the landing fee
Sept 8 2009 - medical examination
Oct 23 2009 - got a letter from Detroit visa office asking for passport for visa issuance

I will hand in the passport in person this week and I was told I can get the visa in the same day.

We are lucky. It is much faster than I thought. Hope the above info would be help for some people who submitted to Detroit office.

My parents just received the client # and medical form from Buffalo, but on the medical form, it says that we should wait for at least 3 months from now to do the check-ups. -sosocute(kiwibaby); 2010-6-10 {361} (#6118884@0)
Also it says that it would do an assessment on our file? We got confused. what else it is checking on? Anybody on the same page? Here is our timeline:

April 22: Sent out PR application forms and documentation to Buffalo.
June 02: Buffalo sent us the client # and medical forms, but requeting us to take it after 3 months.

Any ideas, folks, thanks a lot.

我爸妈的材料递交到水牛城不到一个月收到第一封确认信件，给了file number,就是以B开头的9个数字，另外给了很多这个号码的label,同时附加他们的体检表。 -sosocute(kiwibaby); 2010-6-13 {68} (#6124927@0)
我们的挂号信5月14号寄到Buffalo，他们是6月2号发出第一封回信给我们的。

另外，我的来信里面没有说转到别的office,也没有让做这边的无犯罪记录，让60天之内体检。我也有的朋友是收到让3个月之后再体检的。然后，还没等捡呢，detroite就来信说case被转到那里，而且被speed up,系统里看见她父母上次延期签时候做的体检还没过期，所以就不用体检了，直接让寄护照的。不过，这是去年上半年之前的事情。现在，没有听到这么顺利的，基本上都是等待状态。另，（体检一般1年过期，所以一般再过期之前都会给个通知吧）。大家一起共勉，耐心等待：）

Parents needs to be in Canada for more than 1 year at the time of sponsorship being approved. Then you can request to have their PR application processed in Buffalo. -sosocute(kiwibaby); 2010-6-18 (#6134046@0)
