这个就跟汽车换油一样，讲究的定期换，不讲究的2年也不换。车还是照样开。这furnance，我说呀，讲究的每年tune-up，不讲究的也要每3年tune-up一次，不能小车不倒只管推，出问题了才修。一百多刀，正常。

换油的道理咱懂，但furnance tune-up到底做啥呢？原来老的furnance从来没听过要tune-up,一直working好好的，不是为了高效也不一定要换的。

The " tune up " is a regular check of your furnace. The air fillter will need to be cleaned every year, and such such. Having someone come in and do the first time and you make sure to watch how it gets done, and do it youself next time.

I was told air filter need to be changed every year. I bought myself $25+tax and replaced. It's working but performance is not good as before.

air filter changed once a year? oh, ommonly it is suggested to be changed monyhly from the furnace operation manual, if it is not dust indoors, you can check the filter frequently and change a new one if it is dirty.
