Yes, it's true, the Indian and Chinese communities welcome these powerful hoods as their style of cooking, with very high heat, and spicy foods, benefit from higher performance exhaust.
One thing to keep in mind, is that generally, these cheap "chinese style" hoodfans have a high tendency to draw grease into the ducts, and have very poor filtration. These typically have these cheap little "grease catchers" that give the impression of effectiveness, but are relatively useless.
A quality hood will have a micromesh filter, that's removable and dishwasher safe. These cheap ones usually have a cheap cone shaped piece that goes into the propeller cage....very ineffective.
Also, there a body in the US called the HVI (Home Ventilation Institute), that does 3rd party testing on hoods, and comes up with relative measures for performance. Most of these Chinese hoods are not HVI rated, and CFM claims are to be taken with a grain of salt.
HVI tests would show models connected with a certain length of duct, dampers, and elbows......most of the CFM ratings on the cheapos are measured on air coming through the top of an un-installed hood, with no duct.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
