Compare me to a summer's day? How dare
You, sir? Suggest you know that i am hot
And humid, that i sweat unless I'm bare
I dress this morning when I'd rather not
Have you forgotten all you've learned about
Discretion? If you cannot hold your tongue,
I'll hold it for you, ink-stained lout!
I need no words of yours to keep me young.
My body burns with the deep fires of spring,
No matter what your calendars might say;
When i am one-and-eighty i will sing
As lustily as I could do today.
So if you would compare me, you must choose
A different season, or a different muse!
Remark: Shakespeare wrote a poem, with the first line " Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?" Anonymous replied as above. : - )
