Just heard a very brief blurb a few days ago about our friends at Bell
Sympatico and Rogers Cable introducing a new fee for bulk data downloads.
Obviously, the media monopoly does not want to over emphasize this. Seems
like they want to charge for bandwidth so that when someone downloads a big
software file, they will get dinged for $10 bucks or so. The government
doesn't give a shit because there will of course be at least two taxes on
the bandwidth charge. Bell and Rogers have been itching for years to charge
extra for internet services and here is the big breakthrough. Once accepted
by users, there will be a plague of extra charges and fees. Our beloved
federal government would deerly love to tax the shit out of internet
services. Has anybody any more info on this and how can this new fee be
stopped?
