Thank you very much for your special letter and your praise to me, I even feel flattered. As a new immigrant is not very easy, that is why I can understand Mr. Pan Zhongyan on his stance. In fact I am also a poor people without car and house, but I believe the old Chinese saying, "Be good to yourself if you are poor and be generous and charitable if you are rich", that is why I did not say anything before I got this job in Canada, I am afraid I can help nothing at that time.
I also want to express my thanks to you, for building Rolia, through here I met a lot of new friends, like Roller, Daniel and Littleboat. The user-friendly interface of Rolia made it one of the most popular websites for the Chinese Canadians. I know there are many moderators for rolia, but I only see that you are the only one who is continuously contributing to Rolia.
I fully understand that Rolia is not a political website, it was not in the past, is not now and will be not in future. Instead Rolia is more related to the life of new immigrants. But I would like to say that politics is also a part of our life, no matter if you care it or not. Recent 100 years has been an ordeal for our Chinese, two great leader had their great influences on Chinese, like the Culture Revolution (especially the Anti Right Wing Event in 1957) by Mao Zedong and Tiananmen Square Event in 1989 by Deng Xiaoping. Almost all the Chinese became very realistic, most of people only care themselves, they are crazy for being the millionaires, but do not care the country, world, and seldom have the opportunity to stay alone and think about the meaning of life. Life is not only eating and entertainment, as understood by many Chinese people.
Several days before I attended a Christmas party held by my colleague, he replied me, while I was asking what is the difference between the people of US and Canada, that the Americans are more superior, and in Canada you can identify yourself. Even after you became a Canadian you could also be regard as Chinese, and that is the core of the spirit of multi-culture. In fact no one will respect a person who do not respect his own homeland, this you might know it better than I do since you had been here longer than me. I would say I love China forever, because I was borne there and my parents and relatives are still there. I think most of my Canadian friend could understand me.
As you might notice that on Rolia, there are many idealists like me, sometimes your deleting really hurt some of our members. Rolia should be a fair place to all the members. If you got the chance to read the book The Statements of Politics by Yan Jiaqi, who gave a brand-new definition of politics, in fact this definition was already widely used by almost all the democratic country in the world. So what is politics, it is just the way to select a team which will manage our country, and it should not be the fiercely struggle between individuals in order to get power in China.
