本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛i donot have the intention of advocating chinese government, but i think it is not that bad when facing the largest population in this world. return to this SanXia case, (almost) every 'moving people' has house to live, food to eat. ....though it is not 'WELL COMPENSATED',but it is better than the experience of early chinese immigrants who built the railway for Canada. of course, u may say i am talking about another thing, but think it carefully. we are not talking about how the governments performed. of course, corruption is a topic far from ours.
OK, what i mean now is that all of us donot have the first-hand documents. and i know people are always like a filter, that is, there are various news, but we would like to only remember those news which are holding the same view as ours. that is a 'danger' custom. we always have prejudgements when we are talking sth.
i think the argument can only be valuable when we are at SanXia together and facing the facts by ourselves.

　新民主黨勞工事務發言人馬丁昨日在國會上提出，聯邦所得稅法存在的漏洞，卻得到加拿大最高法院的支持。這不但會破壞司法公正，甚至會威脅到公共安全。馬丁批評說，加拿大最高法院 1999 年做出的裁決，意味著聯邦政府針對違反環境法、勞工或健保制度的公司所開出的罰款，可以獲得合法的課稅減免。

　最初聯邦稅務部是禁止這樣的申報，但是經過幾次上訴及裁決，這類罰款都變成可報減稅的開支。

　事情還得追溯到 1999 年末，當時加拿大最高法院做出裁決，命令國稅局必須向卑詩省一家公司歸還 12 萬 5 千元。這家公司因超定額生產雞蛋，而於 1998 年被處以 27 萬元罰款，但公司卻在申報所得稅時，將罰款額列入公司開支，合法獲得免稅。

that is known as the rape of people's wishes, the entire history of the 20th century consist of fighting for the right to be left alone, to be free of harassement, the right to stay in my dinky little hole and not get booted out when the gov't sees it fit. you two are foucing on if building SanXia is necessary, right? in some sence, i believe that sending an "explorer to Mars" is also a kind of wasting money(at least it is, comparing with the fund of education).

i think when we are talking about one topic, it isnot a good style to mix it with some other topics.
about 'moving people', i think what LUJ said above is quite right.
for if the SanXia is good or not, i only trust the experts who went to there by themselves and studied there for years. and i donot think it can be made clear by us.(at least i think my knowledge is not enough)
i think the news from newspapers, views from politicians and foreign companies are not believable.
like the water purifing system of Toronto, it is usful, but many immigrants died for that. and the beautiful gate is usless, it is just for showing the power of somebody.
politics and the target of only-for-making-money are ugly. that is why we have a lot of liars in this world.
even like the Great Wall, it is usless except as a miracle. but who can remember those builders? i only know YingZheng.
