Whether there was true love or not, it all started with the first encounter. When we meet a person for the first time we somehow naturally like the other person. There is chemistry. Or there isn't. Some sort of natural internal alignment process makes the two bodies sense each other. The outcome of the sensing might be positive, with the result that they like each other, or negative, as such not liking each other. The amount of liking or not liking might be from slightly to extremely.
If the liking is positive, the two bodies' relationship has reached first base. There is a natural positive chemistry between them. Automatically the second and third base are in sight.
When you like someone you are easier inclined to trust the person. You will at least give the person the benefit of the doubt. You have reached second base. And once you are there, there is a larger likelihood of you respecting the person. You will allow the person to show you what value he/she can add to you. Or even more, you start admiring the person even before the value was demonstrated. Third base!
Thus once you like a person you naturally trust and subsequently respect the person. Naturally you move from Like to Trust to Respect. As such LTR follows a natural process.
LTR(Love Trust Respect) and relationship
Once a relationship has been established through the Relationship Process , the health of a relationship can be measured through the respective extents of Love, Trust and Respect.
The old "I love you honey" is now communicated via the following three statements:
* I love you a bit darling
* I trust you normally darling
* I respect you a lot darling
In this relationship it is the R element that apparently keeps the couple together.
A relationship is perfect if the three elements are in balance within and among the people. This does not mean that all three relationship elements are 100%. Too much love will likely result in jealousy, which has a negative impact on trust. The Relationship Process clarifies that the three relationship elements are linked. This linkage will continue to exist in the established relationship.
Viewing an established relationship, the gradual disappearance of the R element is often the reason that a long-term relationship is not sustained, and thus ended.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
