Don't misunderstand!! -- my wife and I have been basically taking care of the baby ourselves, but having 1-2 more people around at home creates more "ren2 qi4" (people atmosphere) especially when I am at work. -hsl(胡司令); 2002-4-9 {467} (#446595@0)
Otherwise there will be only the mom and baby with 4 (big/small) eyes staring at each other. We are not asking the parent(s) (or ANY relatives or even close friends) to take over the work, but rather having them to stay around and have a "hand-change" from time to time---I believe baby grows a better personality if she/he sees more live faces around. Anyway just thought I would get positive hints/feedbacks. ;) ----only experienced advice and no BS please. ;))

my baby boy is 1.5 y o. we do feel tired, but joyful meanwhile. totally his grandparents stay here are 7 months. then he is all in the young parent's charge.

recently, my wife & i also concern about the baby's personality, and we decided to send him to daycare center everyday now, (from 9:00am - 2:pm), it's very close to my company, we can spend time together for lunch which is good, but we stil not sure whether that action is correct or not. ( we hope he could get along with other kids, some friends said it's 2 earily for such a baby, and we investigated on those first 2 weeks, can not say positive, nor negative, ..... hard to make the RIGHT decision.)

yesterday, a accident happened to my baby, he was falling down thru stairs, just one minute out of mum's sight, it scared mum to death,......yes, definitely the more people around, the better to child i think

既然选择了为人父母，就应该承担起这个责任。在孩子的成长过程中，谁也代替不了父母的角色。没有老人在，你们可能身体上疲劳一些，但肯定心理上轻松很多。
我一个朋友生小孩时，父母只来了一个月。她在孩子六个月时上班，孩子送到别人家。那家的老太太是从国内来的，以前是教师，挺好的。她带了几个孩子。现在我朋友的孩子一岁半，活泼可爱，不认生。她现在快有第二个孩子了，也打算这么办。
我另一个朋友的孩子自从来到加拿大(一岁半)，一直在DAY-CARE。这个孩子懂道理，独立性强，非常可爱。
相反我看到的由老人带大的孩子，没有一个懂道理的，自私蛮横。令人生厌。

其实雪妹妹的意思也是提醒而已，老人带孩子真的上很惯的。以前孩子多，没有能力精力惯，现在就一个，都当成宝贝，老人的压力很大，所以就SPOIL拉.

如前所述，我们（主要是我内人）是自己带的，家里老人倒是来过一两个月，也请过一段保姆帮忙做饭。因为我是做咨询工作，经常要出差，最后我老婆实在太累，就带女儿回国过了四个月。绝不想 -hsl(胡司令); 2002-4-10 {286} (#448092@0)
现在又回来了，家里人气一下子去掉不少（白天常常是娘儿俩大眼瞪小眼）。本以为我妈可以来陪陪她们，但现在又不行了，所以有点沮丧。

我想，你说的把孩子送到别人家（家庭幼儿园）的方式是非常好的！
等她再大点（一岁半到两岁），就送DAY-CARE。我们只希望小孩独
立性强，性格开朗，过分聪敏没有必要。
