我理解“很好，很和谐”的意思，也不是要到地狱去才自杀。而是要到天堂去，在考虑更快捷的方法。你没有正面回答别人的问题。
佛教讲因果，有“自杀”这样的因，绝大多数都会导致“下堕”的果。

In other words, what makes them believe in their religion, yet at the same time act in contrary to their religious doctrine (i.e. peaceful means in solving problems)?

My understanding so far, is that most "religious" people don't really understand what they believe in, that they take up their religions because they were taught that way, and that they are too lazy to ask themselves "why".
