Description
This job is responsible for estimating, designing, developing, and supporting control system solutions in the form of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI's). This position is also responsible for assistance in the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing automation systems.
Requirements
Design and develop PLC logic programs and HMI graphical screens to automate functions for operations. Provide assistance and analysis of control systems for commercial, operations and engineering. Investigates methods to reduce hardware costs and labor expenses as it relates to automation. Provides automation solution estimates to project managers, facility engineers, and others. Provide ingenious and creative engineered designs for PLC programming. Directs and oversees contract personnel in the design and development of automation solutions. Provide project management, and construction oversight for assigned projects, including expansion, regulatory and modification projects. Follow Project Life Cycle and System Integrity Plan procedures to ensure that all projects meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives. Develop and present training on new or specialized equipment installed in projects.
Experience/Education: 4 years of experience preferred. Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, however, applicable technical field experience may be considered as a substitute.
Licenses/Certificates (if applicable): Registered PE is a plus.
Additional requirements: The ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English with co- workers, supervisors, internal and external customers; the ability to work in stressful conditions; the ability to adapt and respond in changing circumstances; the ability to use a personal computer with the Windows(R) operating system to complete time sheets, send and receive email, and access information posted on the Company's intranet; availability as needed to work on both a scheduled and call-out basis; and the ability to work at the assigned job site.
