TN letter is your job offer for immigration officer, more specifically, border inspector. It has certain format you must follow, and it's different from a regular job offer.

A TN letter must include the following elements:

- Term of your service: maximum: 12 months
- Your responsibility at the US company
- Your job title
- Job starting date and ending date
- Your background summury indicates that you have enough skills and experience to handle this position.
- The letter must be in company letter head with signature, date, etc.
- If it's computer related job, you must be titled as "Computer System Analyst", no other choice. Even your real title is java developer or something else. That is very specific.

Documents to bring with you for the interview at Border:

- Resume
- Diplomas: all you have, if from chinese university, get certified at U of Toronto first, $100
- TN letter
- US dollar 50 cash
- Current paystub if you have one

Lastly, good luck, and dress up, be confident.

I even heard a case that the starting date is for example at May 15, but the guy went to the border at May 1, ... the officer said go back and come back before May 15, it's too early for you. They do care about the date, not too early, not too late. -mdq100(rabbit); 2007-8-8 (#3855752@0)
