本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛I got too much valuable info from this forum. Thanks for all of you. :)
First of all, I wanted to share my experience of TN with anyone still looking for a hand. I went to border this Tuesday. Before I head for POE, I had a meeting with my lawyer. This gentleman is so professional that he tried to explain every detail to me and which POE is good / which is bad. He also prepared a couple of questions in case the Free Trade Officer is not easy to deal with. Actually I can tell that he might know the office time of diff officers at that border. :) Finally he suggest me to drive to Peace Bridge (Fort Erie). Everything was perfectly fine that day. I got my TN in just 20 minutes after I arrived at the border. And actually the officer asked me only one question, "what job position are you going to take?" Quite simple, my lawyer prepared a lot of paper work but it seems they dont check too much details about the applicants. By the way, you dont need to put the start and end date on your TN letter as long as you have one year period and start working right way on your letter.
Here is my first question. My lawyer said my wife needs to bring our marriage certificate with her when we enter the States because she has to apply for TD to stay along with me. Does anyone know whether the Certificate we had in China works? You know it's in English version.
Here is my second question. Would it be ok to enter the States after three weeks passed my TN start date. Like I have my TN start date Jan 16., if I leave on Feb. 3. is there any problem?
