homemade baby food系列之 broccoli puree

Bright green broccoli has a sweet, pleasant flavor. It is rich in vitamins C and A, iron, calcium, and folic acid.

Ingredients

- 1 bunch fresh broccoli (approx. 750 g ( 1 1/2 lb))
- water

preparation

cut off and discard the stalks. Keep only the flower part of the puree. (Use the stalks for soups or stir-fries for the rest of the family.)

· steam broccoli over boiling water 10-15 minutes until it is tender but still very green.
· Or, in the microwave, place broccoli in a covered glass dish with 30 ml (2 tbsp.) of water. Cook at high power 7-10 minutes. Stir with fork halfway through cooking time.
· Remove from heat and cool slightly.
· Place half the broccoli with 60 ml (1/4 cup) of water into the blender. Puree. Repeat with the remaining broccoli.
· Pour into ice-cube trays and freeze.
Yield: 1 ice-cube tray full
Storage life: 6 months
