"Limite myself to 50g of fat per day--i.e. track fat intake, start buying leaner meat, add grilled fish to my diet, eat smaller portion of high fat foods, and substitue yogurt for ice creaem. Ride my bike around the part for 30 min every morning. If I miss my ride, I wil go for a brisk walk in the evening."
Concentrate your energy on getting your job done, do not worry about praise or blame you will receive and never let them impact your emotionaly. Your reward should be great satisfaction from consistently achieving your sub-goals. You should not focus on what others comment about you. On good days and bad days, you should neither be intimidated by people who earns more than you do nor overwhelmed with a sense of superiority when you earn more than other do. Focus on how well you achive your specific goal at each stage of your career.
If you share such a concrete, specifice and actioan-oriented goals with your wife, I assure you she will shut up. Also, it is man's responsibility to educate your wife as well and make her think in such a frame i/o just focus on the money. If thinks do not work, after you let it off your chest, act!
