No, I am a PR. I have been in Canada for just a year & I'm not working in US. My situation maybe a bit different than LZ's because I am applying for a B2 visa which is for business purpose,

though they do put B1/B2 in the same catagery. What she cares is I have a company letter showing I am going there for attending a trade show (you won't believe there are thousands of trade shows in US every year) & the company take care of the expense for me. I gave them the reason why I have to go & they know I have my family (2 sons) in Canada & a job which have quite strong ties here, then she gave it to me.

For my understanding, what they really want to know is whether you have strong ties in Canada (like family, a decent job, a house ) & enough money which means you won't stay in the US & won't come back..

        I'm not Citizen yet. Just try to find out if it is extremely difficult to get an U.S. visa as I am a Canadian PR. Please give me some advices as how to successfully obtain an U.S. visa.

          If you just want to apply for a B1/B2 visa, you don't have to work at a specific job, any job position is fine because this fall into their requirements about the tie things. I guess even the cashier in the gorcery store is okay for them as long as they believe you will come back to Canada after visiting the States. You need to have a company letter to show what kind of job you have, how much is your annual salary & when did your job begin.

          I hope all these help you understand more of your situation.
