why do they need this? In theory you can enter any country if you have the authorized visa and no need just to entry into China. If you can not support the evidence of entry Chian, is it mean they will not allow you to be a Canadian Citizen? Do you know that Chinese authority will give you that kind of proof or not? Does anyone you know get this kind of proof if it's payable.
