Well, it's really a big topic to talk about career development in Canada.

All I want to say is if you want to have your career in future no matter in Canada, US, or China, you'd better be ready for any coming potential opportunities. I am not sure what is your highest degree you are holding. But, definitely, it will be helpful to get a domestic degree. In addition, in school, it is a good time to refresh yourself and reflect on your previous experience.

Basically, I wasted my three years in "prison" by playing around here and there. Recently, I just missed some chances to get a better job in US since I was not prepared. When I look back on the way behind me, I put my words as such.

  • 枫下茶话 / 美国话题 / Is it Worth? In terms of time - 3+ years you have to live here in Canada in order to get your Citizenship? What is/are your thought(s) in Long term vs. Short term? Any feedbacks? Many thanks!
Would you give up or stay until obtain Canadian Citizenship? Do you think you are wasting your time here? or you think it is worth its weight of gold? The point is it is very difficult in finding a professional job in Canada.

Congratulations to those who have successfully won their Citizenship. Would you like to share your experience with us? Three year is an awful long time for me. Please advice.

    Regards,
    • Different people have different goals. Try to identify your goals first. It really depends on what you will do in these three+ years if you want that passport.
      • Thanks for your point, ice.
The point behind my thought is "Career development" which is an very important aspect in life. The truth I found, here, in Canada is not that optimistic for any career-oriented people. The reality is painful - sometimes in life, we have no choice......

Not agree, many these kinds of people have good achievements in their careers. But that may depend on how work hard and intelligence they are
      • To me, three year's struggleing is way too long. I'm counting day by day. God help me. Canadian Government should modify it from 3+ years to 2 years. I would say, many people will be happy!!
    • that is really up to you. As you know canada sucks, US is much better. But it is difficult to get green card in US. Canadain citizen may be useful some times.
