Please provide, a description of the job and a summary of the required technical and/or softskills:
-Requires general awareness of security trends & issues and the continual development of the skills to define, develop & implement sound security strategies
- investigates security incidents & suspected security breeches and recommends steps to reduce risks and manage future exposures
- Familiar with performing Network & Host based Scanning of servers
Provide consultation to various application teams on the steps required to harden their applications/servers
-Antivirus infrastructure monitoring (familiarity with Symantec product)
- Comfortable with monitoring Email gateways for spam, worms, possible
hits)
- Familiar with working in a Lotus Notes email environment
- Experienced with Microsoft products (desktop technology, servers, software products)
-Excellent communication skills required,
-Must feel comfortable working with other teams to get tasks completed - must show initiative
-Able to multi task, multiple demands working under high pressure
-Excellent Time management skills
-Thorough problem solving skills required
- works extended hours when required to complete projects on schedule or solve problems
- 3 years Community college/degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 2 to 3 years work experience in Information Technology in a related Technical role
- A recognized security professional designation of one of the following (or their equivalent) is an asset:
1. CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
2. CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor
3. CBCP - Certified Business Continuity Planner
4. GIAC - Global Incident Analysis Center Certification (eg: GSEC, GCIA, CGIH, GCGA, GCIX, GCNT)
