eglispa, attached are some links to Depression sites that I personally have found to be very helpful. I suggest that you start by just giving them a look through - there could be some information you find interesting and eye-opening.
I am continuing to find the name of a psychologist for you - just someone, a trained professional to talk to is a wonderful help. So much is lifted from your shoulders when you do that.
Also, I think it would be a good idea to talk to your doctor.. most GP's have discussion appointments with their patients - you just have to specify when making an appointment with your doctor that it is for "discussion" - they are very happy to talk to people. You just have to tell them that you have been feeling down lately, mention why, and you can also ask to be put on a list to be assessed by, or to see, a psychiatrist (free of charge to you - covered by OHIP)- they can make a proper diagnosis - Depression is bio-chemical, clinical - there may be nothing wrong at all except that your seratonin levels could be low..
Depression is very common, not what you think it is, and very treatable.
(People suffer when they don't have to).
People who are depressive are not useless. Some of the world's greatest artists, thinkers, writers etc. were and are suffering from/coping with Depression.
There is a good chance you just may need some "talk therapy" - which helps everyone I've ever known who's gone through it.
eglispa I would be very happy to come along with you to your GP as moral support and friend. I don't want to be pushy, but I would be lying if I were not concerned, and did not already know what Depression is and does to good people. Please think about it and let me know whenever you are comfortable. :)
