We are currently looking for a Mainframe Systems Analyst resource for a 304
Days contract with the Government of Ontario, located in Toronto. The anticipated start date
is 11/28/2005.
The role is to support the mainframe application (IMS Cobol) and as part of
the
existing project team to participate in the development of the replacement
application. Key skills & knowledge includes IMS Cobol support, proven
experience in and knowledge of Trust Accounting Systems, or Financial
Applications (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger),
income
tax, and Case Management. Ideally experience in and knowledge of Investment
Management, Document and Records Management software.
Deliverables
(a) Perform required analysis; business requirements, prepare functional
specifications and detail designs;
(b) Write or change, maintain and unit test programs in IMS DB/DC Mainframe
Express (PC environment) using
Enterprise COBOL for ZOS, BTS, JCL and CLIST, following existing
standards;
(c) Write or change, maintain and unit test programs for conversion and
integration (between the mainframe and application servers using tools
such as
connect direct, HIS and IMS connect), following existing standards;
(d) Promote programs from the PC development to mainframe environment.
System
test IMS DB/DC online and batch programs in both the PC and mainframe
environment. Promote applications and associated IMS data base
components from the test to production environment following MBS data
centre
guidelines;
(e) Provide support in the development & production environments;
(i) Provide application support for the users on an ongoing basis;
and
(J) Perform other functions (such as on-call support) related to the
Support
as required under the direction of the Manager of Technology Services.
Deliverables
(a) Responsible for ensuring that there is current system documentation
including, but not limited to business requirements, detailed design and
development documents (including using the Unified Modelling Language (UML)
and
an administration guide;
(b) Define and establish the functional rules and guidelines to implement
enhancements, modifications and maintain data integrity of the System and
other
applications including the new applications;
(c) Participate in activities relating to conducting interviews, defining
and
documenting user specifications, including screen design, database design
and
edit rules;
(d) Participate in activities relating to the modification of vendor
products;
(e) Participate in activities relating to the testing and acceptance
procedures
associated with new software development i.e. integration and user
acceptance
testing;
(f) Participate with the functional analysis and preparation of system
