Job Title Senior Software Developer (GUI)
Department Product Development
Team Platform Development
Reporting To Manager, Platform Development
Responsibilities ! Participate in the architecture, design, and implementation of the GUI
components of our software application. This software is being re-
architected and enhanced using the latest available technology.
! Develop and rapidly prototype web-based GUI thin-clients
! Evaluate and recommend off-the-shelf software development toolkit
! Supervise and mentor more junior team members
Education ! Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or
equivalent
Experience & Skills ! 5-8 years (minimum) experience using OOD methods in a UNIX
environment using C++/JAVA
! Solid and recent hands-on 2-3 years experience in the following (in
order of importance)
# Javascript
# HTML and DHTML
# Tag library and widgets
# SVG
# UNIX scripting and development tools
# JSP
! Demonstrable GUI projects with reasonable complexity and scale
! User interface design
! GUI framework architecture, design and construction
! JSP Model 1, Model 2, Model 2X architecture
! 3rd party software evaluation
! Software development process
! Source code revision control system (e.g., Clearcase)
! Teamwork and leadership abilities
Ideally, the candidate will have:
! Knowledge of IP, ATM and Frame Relay preferred
! Knowledge of telecommunications
! Experience in XML, XSL, XSLT, CSS, Servlet, and JSF
! Presentation Tier of J2EE Patterns, other third party softwares like
tomcat, apache, Cocoon, Batik, Struts, Velocity, and OpenSymphony
! CORBA experience
