Contractually limited for two years
Reporting to one of four Application Team Leaders, the successful candidate will participate in development and technical support of the major administrative and academic support information systems on campus. Working within a dynamic team structure, responsibilities include consultation and liaison with systems end-users and managers, collaboration with other team members, analysis and design, program and application development, testing and implementation, developing technical documentation and quality assurance programs, as well as ongoing system enhancements and technical support. Current development projects include web-enabling existing applications, platform migrations, database conversions and ongoing application evolution.
Requirements of the position include: a University degree in a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience with at least one of the following products/environments: expertise in Cold Fusion MX development (familiarity with Dreamweaver as a development environment would be an asset), working knowledge of Oracle's dbms, PL/SQL and Developer Tools (specifically Forms and Reports), and demonstrated competence working within the HP-Unix computing platform. The candidate should also be familiar with working in a team coding environment (using source control software and sandboxes). Knowledge of Sybase's Powerbuilder tool or Adobe Photoshop and familiarity with Quest's Toad developer environment would be an asset; demonstrable success in development and implementation of complex business application within a team environment; strong interpersonal skills, and a basic understanding of the campus information technology environment.
