We are looking for a smart and motivated person to join their Wireless Team. This team builds wireless WML applications that run on handheld devices, including phones and PDAs, as part of their Mobile product solution. You will participate in development and sustaining efforts of those applications as well as have the chance to learn and contribute to other participating components of the architecture.
You must be able to write and interpret business requirements, produce detailed functional specifications, and develop software that is scalable and efficient. You should also be able to analyze existing code and provide recommendations on how to efficiently improve and extend it.
Position is available immediately in their Toronto office.
Core requirements:
• Working knowledge of Java, J2EE, JSP, WML and Tomcat
• Knowledge of WAP, phone browsers and emulators.
• Familiarity with IMAP, SMTP, MMS, and SMS technologies
• Excellent verbal and written skills
Successful candidates will also possess many of the following skills:
• Java application development across multiple platforms
including Windows, Linux, and Solaris.
• J2EE application development and associated tools
(i.e. NetBeans, Eclipse, Borland JBuilder, Rational Rose).
• Java development experience using EJB, JSP, JDBC, JNI,
RMI, Servlets, XML.
• Object-oriented analysis and UML knowledge and experience.
• J2EE application servers such as Tomcat and BEA WebLogic
In this position you will work closely with UI Team Lead and report to the Engineering Manager for Broadband solutions.
