Provide 3rd level reactive and proactive performance management and administration tasks for mission critical UNIX systems running Sun Solaris in a 7X24 environment. This includes providing operations support, and performing environment changes, and third level incident management, including pager rotation and problem management. Participate as an active member on project teams. Develop and implement backup strategies. Perform updates to documentation, as required. Consider environment updates and make proposals, as required. Ensure day to day support of the domain and components supported are maintained, optimized and used effectively within a high level of availability.
The team also supports IBM UNIX servers running AIX and knowledge of AIX would definitely be an asset.
There will be a requirement for the resource to work at the data centres in Markham and Streetsville for a number of days a month. These data centres are not readily available by public transit.
