Do you have a consumer electronics retailer background? Have you worked with
POS information? Do you have database/data processing experience?
NPD Canada currently has an opportunity with for 2 full time contract Data
Editors in our Operations Department. The contract length will be up to one
year in length covering a Maternity leave. Reporting to the Team Leader - Data
Preparation Group, this person will be responsible for incoming consumer point
of sale data editing, coding, and entering retail data using NPD proprietary
database applications.
This position is based out of NPD’s office in the DonMills/YorkMills, Toronto
area. Vacation will be included with the contract. Potential for permanent full
time and career growth.
Job Requirements
The successful applicant must have the following skills:
1-2 yrs previous experience with data coding & classification for large/ complex
databases.
Previous experience as a data coder/editor in a market research or information
company is an asset.
Retail POS knowledge – retail POS product knowledge of any of the following is a
must: Video Games/ Audio/ Video/ Communications/ Cameras/ IT software/hardware
products.
Intermediate level plus with Access and Excel.
Demonstrated effective use of organizational resources such as, the Internet
product research, catalogs, category specialists, client development team, and
store trips.
Ability to research and verifying information for assigned retailer and/or
category, weekly/monthly, while communicating all relevant data issues to the
appropriate parties.
Strong communication skills to communicate with Operations Team regarding
product information, Dept./Class issues, data issues, schedule issues.
Works well with process and is a logical thinker.
Demonstrated ability to use software tools to pull data and work on projects.
A proven team player with strong attention to detail, deadline driven and
improvement mindset.
Available to work evenings and weekends when required.
