Main Purpose of Job Role:
Leads the provision of system testing for both development and support of new or existing client projects.
The Lead Systems Tester is responsible for the development and execution of test plans based on an understanding of requirements, features and production processes. With management direction, this position will be involved in specification review, defect tracking, and product stress testing.
The Software Tester will work closely with software development teams to ensure that the highest standards of software reliability and performance are maintained.
The Senior Software Tester will also be charged with building a software testing function that ensures the continued high quality of our software. This is a “Hands-on” position that must have a strong command of software development fundamentals.
Generic Main Duties:
· Develop structured test plans, test scripts and test cases
· Participate in specification review.
· Responsible for creating, executing and recording the results of test cases.
· Design and implement automated testing methods.
· Participates in the development of Unit Testing scripts/test cases.
· Carry out system testing in all SDLC stages.
· Ensures issue reporting into the defect tracking system.
· Monitor fault reporting within the development environment, using approved tools.
· Analysis and write-up of test results, including liaison with team leaders and developers for fixes and re-tests.
· Actively participate in walk through and reviews with other team members as required.
· Understand, follow and contribute to the Company SDLC procedures.
· Recommend to Project Manager improvements to the testing methods.
· Implement approved testing tools.
· Lead management responsibility for a team of System Testers involved in the delivery of specified tasks and sub-tasks within a larger system deliver.
· Ensure awareness of deadlines and priorities. Report on progress and issues in a timely manner.
· Participate in the building of an excellent software testing function.
