Summary:
Senior Project Accountant will have overall responsibility for overall project management ensuring that all projects are accurately reported, gross margins are being met and accurate revenue is recognized on a monthly basis.
Accountabilities:
Responsible for monitoring all projects to ensure that all projects are set up according to predefined procedures and verification that required gross margins are being met.
Responsible for completion and distribution of the WIP report for all projects ensuring that all formulas are calculating correctly and monthly balances have been accurately transferred over.
Responsible for conducting weekly WIP meeting with PM's and Area Directors.
Responsible for reviewing all gross margin discrepancies on all projects and determining the cause of the issue.
Responsible for calculating monthly accurate revenue recognition.
Responsible for providing training to the PM's and written documentation on training material as required.
Responsible for developing Jonas reports using the report writer as required by the PM's.
Responsible for a monthly reconciliation of the Contracting COGS compared to the monthly revenue providing an explanation of all variances.
Adhoc analysis and projects as required
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Professional designation (CMA, CA, CGA) or in final year
Minimum 5 years work experience in a project accounting
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) is a definite asset
Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and with limited direction.
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Enjoys working in fast paced environment
Excellent computer skills (Jonas, SAP, MS Access, MS Excel)
