Primary Responsibilities:
Review project design specifications;
Writing test cases for planned projects based on design specifications;
Perform quality assurance testing for English language and international products. This includes:
Install/uninstall testing
Graphical User Interface, Usability testing
Documentation testing (online help, readme files, user documentation)
Performance/stress testing
Localization testing
Hardware compatibility testing
Software compatibility testing
Regression testing
CD-ROM media testing
Ensuring that product defects are logged in the software defect tracking system according to the logging guidelines;
Configuring hardware and software as required by test plans;
Review all comments on resolved issues as updated by the technical staff;
Retest resolved issues;
Resubmit additional comments / reopen closed issues when necessary;
Use Snag-It (image capture software) to capture screen shots;
Correspond with technical staff to provide additional assistance in duplicating issues;
Participate in product direction / design discussions;
Lead a team of QA Testers;
Work with product management, product development and support teams;
Work with clients;
Working in a deadline driven environment;
All other tasks as defined by the Director, Quality Assurance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
University degree in business or computer science, or equivalent post-secondary credentials.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
Detail oriented;
Excellent time management skills;
Ability to prioritize work;
Experience with Microsoft Windows (Win 95, 98, 98 SE, ME, 2000, XP);
Experience with Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Browser;
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Assets:
Experience with QA testing tools;
Understanding of change management processes;
Understanding of software development and software product life cycle;
Understanding of quality philosophies and principles;
Accredited with a Quality Assurance designation;
Experience with SEI CMM Level II (The Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model for Software) and/or IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers);
Experience with Project Management.
