Network Operations/Technical Support Analyst Opportnuity

The Network Operations Technical Support Analyst will provide world class tier 1 Network Operations Centre service using superior skills. This person will adhere to established internal policies and procedures and provide support on a 7x24 basis.

Responsibilities:
Adhere to ITIL standards.
Monitoring core network peers and managed customer equipment.
Providing on-site 'hands and eyes' troubleshooting.
Performing device administration and troubleshooting for services such as bandwidth, firewall, VPN, UNIX and MS-Windows, backup/restore and servers.
Providing device and network level security through analysis of log files, viewers and a suite of security tools.
Supporting emails and domain name systems.
Providing physical access to authorized staff.
Administering security access systems.
Monitoring power systems.
Responding to customer and partner phone calls, email and trouble tickets. Documenting events, incidents, and actions. Providing updates and transition to next shift staff.
Following policies and procedures related to escalations, ticketing and change management.
Escalating to team leads and other technical escalation points as appropriate.
Proactively contacting customers when thresholds have been exceeded or systems events occur.
Staying current with technology through use of lab equipment, peers, reference materials and on-line resources.
Participation in special projects as required.

Position Requirements:
University degree in business or computer science, or equivalent education and experience.
3 years of Network Operations Centre experience.
Strong grasp of TCP/IP, internet protocols, experience with high availability systems, internet/WAN routing, distributed systems monitoring and management.
Strong communication skills.
Expert level comprehension of core deployed technologies. Areas of specialty are: routing and switching, firewalls, VPN, IT security, UNIX, enterprise backups, and monitoring.
Well developed customer service skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Willingness to work shifts under a rotation schedule that includes overnight shifts.
1 year of startup Network Operations Centre experience is considered an asset.
