Milton grass fires cause mayhem on 401

Traffic was backed up for several kilometres on Canada's busiest highway after a number of grass fires forced officials to shut down lanes temporarily.
All eastbound and westbound lanes on Highway 401 near Milton, west of Toronto, have been reopened, but officials are advising drivers to avoid the area.
GO trains are stopping at Meadowvale. Passengers trying to go on to Milton will be bused there.
Earlier in the day, all the eastbound lanes and a number of westbound lanes were closed for several hours. Several nearby homes have reportedly been evacuated.
Fire crews from Milton, Halton Hills, Oakville and Burlington were on the scene.
