RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs test systems and/or components; code; write and execute test scripts using Visual Basic.
Working with internal development teams on system analysis, design, development, and independent verification & validation.
Develops and executes manual test procedures, test cases, and adapts existing tests to new products.
Performs regression testing to ensure product changes have been implemented successfully.
Design and develop test jigs used for functional verification of products under test.
Follows workplace operating and environmental, health and safety procedures.
Skills:
Proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle (design-development-testing-support)
Proficiency in Visual Basic programming, scripting, and programming in a real-time environment
Knowledge of digital hardware; exposure to Object Oriented Analysis and Object Oriented Programming; following coding standards and development procedures.
Problem solving and analytical skills a must.
Basic electronics knowledge (e.g. oscilloscopes, voltmeter)
The Following Are Considered Definite Assets:
Programming in C, Java, C++, or Java script.
Development of turnkey embedded systems in a real-time environment.
Familiarity with testing RF and wireless devices
Knowledge of telecom, IP, and wireless data networks.
Other Competencies:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability and willingness to work with detail as well as with general assignments a must.
Good team player with results oriented approach and high degree of self-motivation.
Number of Years Direct Experience Required:
1 or more years of Visual Basic software development experience with board level systems and hardware testing.
Education Level Required:
Presently at second year of university in an engineering discipline, college co-op in an Electronics or Computing or equivalent discipline.
